Development Coll is a community company limited by guarantee with charitable status. The company was formed in April 2006 in order to fulfil the needs of the Island of Coll as set out in the development plan which was drawn up following Community Consultation in 2005.

The company has four main objectives:

- To promote, for the public benefit, rural regeneration following the principles of sustainable development in areas of social and economic deprivation
- To manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the Community and the public in general as an important part of the protection and sustainable development of Scotland's natural environment
- To advance the education of the Community about its environment, culture and/or history
- To promote, operate and/or support other similar charitable projects and programmes for the benefit of the Community.

The charity is controlled by a Board of Directors with the day today management carried out by two part time Development Officers, Emma Grant and Frances Macintyre.
Various working group are set up as required to carry out specific projects, all of which a voluntary. |
